When Adam and Evelost their focus, they began a nation of fallen souls thatcould only be restored through a perfect savior, JesusChrist, the Righteous. Remember that Satan fell fromHeaven like lightening. As with anything that has fallen, if you associate with it long enough, eventually it will affect you in the same manner. We were born with a fallen naturethat is inherently selfish. Look at what happened in the pre-fall as well as the post-fall, and you will see how important it is for us to keep our eyes on Jesus
